EVOLUTION OF THE CRAYON

AS I SEE IT, THERE IS NOTHING MORE SYMBOLIC OF CHILDHOOD THAN SOMETHING AS SIMPLE AS A CRAYON. IN 1903, CRAYOLA CRAYON STARTED WITH JUST 8 COLORS AND TODAY IT HAS GROWN TO 120. A CHILD THAT GREW UP DURING THE DEPRESSION COMPARED TO A CHILD IN THIS DYNAMIC INTERNET ERA HAVE MANY DIFFERENCES IN REGARD TO FUN AND GAMES. BUT WITH IT ALL, A CRAYON IS STILL A CRAYON. A CRAYON IS STILL LOVED AND ENJOYED BY CHILDREN. YES, MY GRANDPARENTS PLAYED MARBLES AND JUMP ROPPED AS OPPOSED TO MY NEPHEW WHO HAS THE PLEASURE OF VIEWING A PIXAR MOVIE ON DVD, BUT ULTIMATELY BOTH GENERATIONS HAVE THE CRAYON.

Great point! I remember being so proud of my crayon pack with the sharpener in the backside. Crayons reign supreme!
