DRIVE

MY APOLOGIES TO THE BLOGOSPHERE FOR MY HIATUS. I KNOW MY ABSENCE LEFT A DEEP VOID IN YOUR HEARTS. WAIT FOR IT.........YOU FEEL THAT?....THAT'S YOUR HEART BEING REFUELED BY MY EXCESSIVE USE OF CAPS LOCK, EXCLAMATION POINTS AND AN EXORBITANCE OF THE WORD "AMAZING". SO OVER THE WEEKEND I WENT OUT AND WATCHED THE FILM, "DRIVE". I HAVE TO SAY...I WAS THOROUGHLY ENTERTAINED AND CAPTIVATED!!! THE STYLE AND DIRECTION WAS JUST FLAT OUT COOL. IT WAS FILM NOIR POETICAL VIOLENCE. I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO DISCUSS THIS FILM WITH EVERYBODY, BUT NO ONE HAS SEEN IT (BY EVERYBODY I MEAN MY CAT, DONKEY. SHE HAS NOT SEEN IT...SHE IS LAME). RYAN GOSLING AS THE NO-NAMED DRIVER IS A LACONIC, SUBTLY CHARMING CHARACTER, AND YET WIELDS BRUTALITY EFFORTLESSLY. IT'S A JOHN HUGHES ROMANCE WHERE SOMEONE GETS THEIR HEAD CRUSHED IN BY REPEATED KICKS. ADD IN AN AWESOME SOUNDTRACK ALONG WITH A PINK FONT AND YOU GET ONE AMAZING FILM!
